FREETIME Extended
General terms and conditions

FREETIME Extended is a new approach to buying in advance and if available additional days for Combined Demurrage & Detention (also called merged D&D), for Detention only or for Demurrage only at the destination whereby the Merchant can choose, for import cargo only, the number of days it requires within a set of packs.

Where the Merchant at the time of requesting a quotation or booking commits to purchase and pay for FREETIME Extended with respect to a shipment, the following terms and conditions will apply:

FREETIME Extended forms an integral part of the contract of carriage booking and is payable as Freight as that term is defined in the Carrier’s Bill of Lading terms and conditions available at https://www.cmacgm.fr/ebusiness/registration/terms-and-conditions or for CNC Carrier at https://www.cnc-ebusiness.com/help/shipping guide/bl-clauses

Any capitalized terms used but not defined herein will have the same meaning as set out at https://www.cma-cgm.fr/ebusiness/tarifs/demurrage-detention/conditions-generales or at https://www.cnc-ebusiness.com/ebusiness/tariffs/demurrage-detention

ANL | Demurrage and Detention Tariffs

The number of calendar days purchased by the Merchant in a FREETIME Extended pack is inclusive of, and not additional to, any Free time already offered by the Carrier to the Merchant. Depending on the FREETIME Extended pack purchased, the maximum number of calendar days of Free time for any shipment cannot exceed in total:

Merged Detention & Demurrage Time (merged D&D) – if available	10/ 14 / 21 / 28 calendar days*
Detention Time only (if available)	7 / 10 / 14 calendar days
Demurrage Time only (if available)	7 / 10 / 14 calendar days

*: 35 / 50 calendar days available for Angola destinations ONLY.

Only one FREETIME Extended pack may be purchased and applied to each shipment.

Any FREETIME Extended packs purchased but not used will automatically lapse without refund and are non-transferable.

If the Merchant exceeds the maximum number of calendar days of Free time paid in a FREETIME Extended bundle for a shipment, the terms and conditions of the Applicable Tariff (as such term is defined in the Carrier’s Bill of Lading terms and conditions) available at https://www.cma-cgm.fr/ebusiness/registration/terms-and-conditions or https://www.cnc-ebusiness.com/help/shipping-guide/bl-clauses will apply immediately. As per below, an illustration:

Standard Tariff	7 days
Pack subscribed	14 Days merged pack
Total days of agreed freetime	14 days
Nbr of Days used	16 days
Excess Days	16 days used – 14 days = 2 Excess days
D&D Charges to Pay	2* X$ as per applicable tariff from Day 15

FREETIME Extended packs apply only to Free time at the destination and do not include all other costs and services which the Carrier is entitled to charge separately to the Merchant such as storage costs, reefer services, local charges, etc.

FREETIME extended is only available for:

Dry cargo
Reefer cargo (storage and maintenance cost is NOT included in the FREETIME extended product. Following the D&D General Tariff rule, all the storage and maintenance costs will be invoiced to the customer, as usual).
Hazardous cargo
Special equipment for FF, OT, and FR (for a limited scope of countries, please contact your sales or consult online canal to check if the product is available).

FREETIME extended cannot be used for:

Import cargo to landlocked countries.
List of non-eligible destinations here.

FREETIME extended cannot be added nor removed after vessel departure. It can only be purchased or canceled before the first leg vessel ETD.

FREETIME Extended is available for a limited list of import countries (final destinations). The list of eligible destinations can be viewed on the Carrier’s eBusiness platform or by contacting a sales representative of the Carrier in a local agency office

In case of Change of Destination (COD), the customer will be reimbursed for the initial pack subscribed. Upon eligibility, the customer may choose to buy another FREETIME Extended pack for the new destination.

Carrier reserves the right to modify the above terms and conditions without prior notice.
